Washing: Hand washing is the gentlest method for cleaning silk. If using a washing machine, select a delicate or silk setting with a cold water temperature. Use a mild detergent specifically designed for silk or delicate fabrics. Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners. ( we recommend hand wash)
Separate Colors: Wash silk pillowcases separately from other items to prevent color bleeding
Turn Inside Out: Turn the pillowcase inside out before washing to minimize friction and protect the outer surface.
Short and Gentle Cycle: If using a washing machine, choose a short and gentle cycle to reduce agitation.
Cold Water: Wash in cold water to preserve the silk's natural sheen and prevent shrinkage.
Avoid Soaking: Do not soak silk for an extended period, as this can damage the fibers. Keep the washing time brief.
Drying: Lay the pillowcase flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel with the pillowcase inside to absorb excess water.
Avoid wringing or twisting the silk, as this can distort the fabric.
To air dry, lay the pillowcase flat on a drying rack or a clean, dry towel. Keep it out of direct sunlight.
Ironing: If ironing is necessary, use a low heat setting. Iron the pillowcase inside out while it is still slightly damp.
Storage: Store silk pillowcases in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
If storing for an extended period, consider placing the pillowcase in a breathable fabric bag to protect it from dust.
Caution with Products: Avoid contact with cosmetics, hair products, and skincare items that may contain chemicals that could damage silk.
